Initial Preparations: Pre-IB Tasks
Preparations for IBDP Music
These pages are devoted to some student activities that you can complete in the period prior to the start of your DP1 journey. Your teacher may assign some or all of these pages during this time, but the tasks that they contain are largely for self-directed learning. The intention is for you to be better prepared for the types of learning tasks with which you will be involved and ensure that you have the necessary skill set to succeed. You are welcome to provide comments through your teachers on how we can expand these materials to make your experiences even more beneficial.

The IBDP Music can be daunting for those not experienced with the type of inquiry-based learning that frames this program. Your teachers are required to deliver content in a manner that is befitting of this model to ensure that the learning is student-centred and that you are in a sense driving the curriculum.
There are a series of pages devoted to the skills required for a successful experience with the program (see HERE), but the pages here instead offer you some specific activities that will ensure that you are properly prepared for the start of the course.

These have been collected from IBDP music teachers globally:
- Environmental Sounds - Piecing Together the Unorthodox
- Creating Canons - Understanding Recording and Features on DAWs
- Creating an Individual Playlist to Reveal a 'Personal' Context
- Theory Lessons to Assist with Music Analysis
- Reflecting on Live Music Experiences
Do feel free to add more suggestions here and I will add these to the mix. Thank you all for sharing your insights and experiences in this capacity.
