This HL essay is a response to the use of symbolism in relation to social hierarchy in Henrik Ibsen"s Hedda Gabler. While this essay could be described as "functional" and does not have the originality, flair or persuasive qualities of the strongest work, it does show how a student can do well if they have a well focused question, consistent, careful use of evidence, and a logical approach to organisation.
