Paper 2: a guide for students
After two years with no paper 2 due to the pandemic, it is now back for current first year DP students. To help prepare students - and teachers - for the return of this examination in 2023, we have started to develop a guide to paper 2 for students.
The first page is linked below and is a guide to choosing the texts for the examination. While this part of the process is still some way off for current first year students, it is still useful to consider as it has implications for the texts you choose for the other assessments, as well as how you study texts now and how you use your learner portfolio. As you will see, while paper 2 is the only comparative assessment task, using your portfolio to make connections between texts throughout the course will be of enormous benefit in terms of developing the thinking and skills required for paper 2.
Further pages will be developed and added to the guide in the coming weeks and months. If there is a particular element of this assessment you would like to see covered then please let us know via the comments.
