Text to Go: The Kid Nobody Could Handle

"The Kid Nobody Could Handle" is a short story by Kurt Vonnegut. In the short story, Jim, the "kid nobody could handle," has been treated very badly by life. To this, he has two responses—retreating into blank nothingness or becoming senseless, aggressive, and striking back. A high-school music teacher senses what Jim is going through and fights to salvage the rebellious kid.
