The Great Gatsby Study Guide

This week we have published a Study Guide for The Great Gatsby, with chapter by chapter pages that can be used by teachers to support teaching of the text and/or by students as they read and/or revise the novel. As such, all pages have direct student access.

This is the first in a series of new or updated guides to literary texts which we will develop on the site in the coming months and which we hope you will find useful.

Each page of this guide focusses on a different chapter of the novel so can be used as a way to review as you work your way through the text, or as a way of revising the whole book after reading. There are a variety of questions and activities to get students thinking about the text, with some key extracts or aspects highlighted for exploration in more detail.

As ever with our resources, this guide is not intended to be prescriptive and of course you may supplement our materials with others, and you may select from and modify them to meet your own requirements. In addition, it is important that you read the novel and any materials we publish to ensure that they are appropriate to your own local context. We hope that you and your students enjoy working with this guide.
