June 2025 Updates and Notices
Monday 2 June 2025

Welcome to the June 2025 newsletter!
During the past month, we welcomed our 125th teacher and 787th student to the InThinking IGCSE Economics website. These are new milestones for us, and we truly appreciate your ongoing support. đ
Recent updates to the InThinking IGCSE Economics website include:
- Additional interactive True or False quizzes to engage students with comprehending the contents of the syllabus, such as this recently added one for Unit 2.3.2 (Price, demand, and quantity) here and Unit 4.3.5 (the principles of taxation) here.
- Paper 1 MCQ for Unit 2.9.1 (Definition of market economic system) here.
- A fourth set of revision MCQs for Paper 1 has been uploaded here. The other three sets (each containing 20 self-marked MCQs) can be accessed here.
- New Paper 2 exam practice question based on the market failures of salmon farming in Chile (Unit 2.11.2 Government intervention to address market failure) can be found here.
- Additional worked examples for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 can be found here for Unit 4.8.2 (Measurement of inflation and deflation).
- With it being exam season for the majority of Cambridge IGCSE centres, the Command Terms section of the website has been updated with further examples here.
- The glossary of key terms has been fully updated here and now contains over 320 definitions to support students with their revision.
Looking ahead

As we look ahead to the rest of this month, resources will be added to the InThinking website for the upcoming syllabus change to the IGCSE Economics course (for first teaching in August/September 2025). Full details of all the changes can be found on the InThinking site page here. Exciting changes are coming in time for the new syllabus, including a completely updated e-book for the new course plus new Quizlets that will be embedded to the website.

Did you know that your IGCSE Economics students can have completely free access to the InThinking website once you have activated Student Access? You can also register other teachers in your school to gain access to the website, which is updated every week, 52 weeks a year. The annual subscription therefore represents extremely good value for money and will save you hundreds of hours of planning.
Currency | Annual | Per week | Per day |
USD | 270 | 5.19 | 0.74 |
EUR | 220 | 4.23 | 0.60 |
GBP | 210 | 4.04 | 0.58 |
There are several key functions to Student Access:
- Students have access to all notes related to the contents of the course. Essentially, they can use the website as a comprehensive e-textbook for the entire course.
- It allows students to directly access most, but not all, pages (such as examination papers and mark schemes, as well as other teacher support materials).
- It enables teachers to create tasks for their students (refer to the Smart Quizzes section of the website).
- It helps to consolidate student learning and facilitates revision (such as the Paper 1 MCQ tasks, which all come with answers that have explanations).
- It allows teachers to monitor the progress of their students using the grade book.
To get started, go to the Student Access tab in the top left corner of the home page.
Social media engagement

At the time of writing, there are more than 270 teachers in our InThinking IGCSE Economics WhatsApp group, with members asking questions and sharing ideas and resources on a regular basis. What we ask for is that all members check their WhatsApp privacy settings to ensure their full name and a suitable profile picture are on display - this is simply so that we all know who we are communicating with. We also have more than 400 teachers in our Facebook group. Feel free to join these groups as teachers transition to teaching the new IGCSE Economics syllabus.
Wishing you and your students all the best for the May/June exams!
